Update on RTE Project in Costa Rica
Jatropha Seeds
In partnership with Ocean Arks International's John Todd, RTE's research project in Costa Rica is currently documenting evidence of the enhanced growth of trees by using volcanic rockdust to enrich the soil while reforesting previously devastated, overgrazed grasslands. See this article to learn more about our efforts to increase carbon sequestration through remineralization in Costa Rica.

Enhanced Weathering Alliance and Carbon Business Council Join Forces
The Enhanced Weathering Alliance (EWA) and the Carbon Business Council (CO2BC) are joining forces to streamline collaboration, reduce administrative burden, and keep participation affordable for early-stage companies. The goal of the move is to support shared efforts on policy, registries, data transparency, and commercial challenges, allowing enhanced rock weathering (ERW) stakeholders to stay informed and connected as the industry grows.
Adam Wolf, co-founder of Enhanced Weathering Alliance
“CO2BC is a coalition with more than 100 carbon removal companies, and ...
Carbon Business Council’s Roadmap for Enhanced Rock Weathering
As more industry players realize the importance of offsetting carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions as part of the International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) goal of achieving carbon net zero emissions by 2050, enhanced rock weathering (ERW) has emerged as a highly promising method of carbon removal.
In March 2024, the Carbon Business Council (CO2BC) published a policy primer addressing opportunities, key challenges, and proposed policy recommendations aimed at accelerating advancement, deployment, and scaling of ERW. The primer resulted from the collaboration of thought ...
Greensmiths’ Graphite Solution: Revitalizing Soil for Sustainable Agriculture
Graphite mine tailings have the power to transform global agriculture, enhancing soil health by boosting microbial activity and reducing synthetic inputs, according to Greensmiths Inc. president Jim Montgomery
ZeroEx: Pioneering Enhanced Rock Weathering in Europe and Revolutionizing Carbon Dioxide Removal Verification Worldwide
In the quiet agricultural landscapes of western Germany, a climate tech startup is revolutionizing the application of enhanced rock weathering (ERW) as a scalable carbon dioxide removal (CDR) solution.
Mati Carbon Wins $50M Grand Prize at XPRIZE Carbon Removal Competition

The term “missing middle” refers to the funding gap between early-stage innovation and large-scale commercial deployment. While the missing middle concept has become a mainstay in climate conversations – appearing in investment panels, policy discussions, and startup pitch decks – the real-world implications, especially for emerging carbon removal technologies like enhanced rock weathering (ERW), ...
Munash Organics: Innovating Regenerative Gardening and Farming in Australia Through Soil Remineralization
At the heart of Munash Organics’ approach is the concept of soil remineralization: the application of natural, mineral-rich rock powders to restore and revitalize degraded soils.
Yale Research Team Uses Unique Natural Laboratory, a Watershed, to Study Enhanced Rock Weathering
Recently, Yale Professor James Saiers started a project at the Sleepers River Research Watershed focusing on how enhanced weathering can consume CO2 and how this process influences the biogeochemistry of the watershed.
